The team working on the display of Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s Surface Pro 3 recently issued a blog post describing the unique features and capabilities of the screen of Surface Pro 3 tablet that sets it apart from other tablets on Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s Surface Blog.

Microsoft Corporation (MSFT)

The Surface Pro 3 screen has 10% less reflection, both diffuse and mirror-like than rival 10-inch and 12-inch touchscreen tablets, which results in great contrast ratio in bright office environments where it’s needed for maximum productivity. Another great aspect of the screen is that Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) managed to make it optically bonded i.e. The pieces like LCD, glass and others, which make up the screen are bonded to each other and that there is no empty space. Optically bonding a screen results in three advantages- increased contrast, reduced parallax and increased touch accuracy.

When using Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s Surface Pro 3 screen an individual can’t distinguish the individual points of color, but instead see smooth lines and shapes, which results in sharp and clear text, images, and pictures. By using a wide-viewing angle LCD in the Surface Pro 3, the relative differences between darker and lighter tones and color appear the same at all viewing angles, so that the highly accurate colors do not change over viewing angle.

All the tests on the screen were conducted by DisplayMate Technologies, an established display testing firm, which went to say that the Surface Pro 3 is one of the best tablet displays it has ever tested.
