Pokertek Inc (NASDAQ:PTEK) shares were higher over 33% in recent trade after saying Multimedia Games Holding Company Inc (NASDAQ:MGAM) has agreed to buy the company for $1.35 per share compared to the $0.98 closing price of Tuesday.

PTEK is trading in the upper half of the 52-week range between $0.88 and $1.50. MGAM was up nearly 13% at $30.19, in the lower half of the 52-week range between $23.00 and $40.15. Pokertek designs and makes electronic table games and related products for casinos, cruise liners and card clubs. Multimedia Games makes systems, content and electronic gaming units for Native American and commercial casinos.

IPG Photonics Corporation(NASDAQ:IPGP) shares edged lower in recent trade after reporting Q1 earnings and revenue as well as giving a Q2 guidance that were short of analysts’ expectations. IPGP is trading in the lower half of the 52-week range between $53.28 and $79.00.

The maker of fiber lasers, fiber amplifiers and diode lasers said its Q1 earnings rose 15% to $40.5 million or $0.77 per share, but missed the $0.90 average EPS estimate from analysts polled by Capital IQ. Sales rose 20% to $170.6 million but also came in below the $187 million consensus estimate.

For Q2, IPG Photonics said it expects sales between $173 million and $188 million, short of the $201 million estimate, and EPS between $0.77 and $0.92, also short of the $0.99 average estimate.
