That’s why cigarette advertising totalled approximately $8.49 billion in 2014. In 2014, about 80% (nearly $6.8 billion) of this was spent on price discounts paid to cigarette retailers or wholesalers to reduce the cost of cigarettes to consumers. Where all this money goes if we do not see cigarettes ads on TV? Well, actually there is tobacco ads on TV. Try to remember at least one movie where no one was smoking at all. Huge funds are invested in the film productions just to show a glimpse of the familiar brand.
