When Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) posted its results for the last quarter, the Street was happy with everything except the slump in the iPad sales. Most people started saying that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iPad fad is over, but is it? Yoni Heisler has published a brilliant post on this on Tuaw, which calls itself ‘The Unofficial Apple Weblog.’

According to Heisler, the primary reason for the slump in Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iPad sales is that it is a unique product, therefore, its sales shouldn’t be compared with the sales of other devices. The second important reason is that a customer has a lot of reasons to upgrade Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iPhone, but not many reasons exists for one to upgrade the iPad.

A major reason Heisler attributes to slump in sales of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iPad is that the device is expensive when compared to others. One can get an Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iPhone 5s for $99 at Wal-Mart, whereas an iPad Air costs $500 and the base level iPad mini costs $399.
