Priest W. Jeffrey, President and CEO at General American Investors Co. Inc. (NYSE:GAM), disclosed today five purchases done on October 14 and 15, 2014. On the first day, Mr. Jeffrey acquired a total of 3,700 shares of common stock through three different transactions, 700 of which will be kept under his indirect control, paying between $34.813 and $34.817 each share. The other two transactions totaled 4,300 shares at a price of $34.6433, over which Mr. Jeffrey will exercise indirect control.

In addition to those five transactions, Mr. Jeffrey has acquired an additional 19,000 shares early this year. Mr. Jeffrey now controls directly 41,359 shares and another 41,949 shares indirectly. Betsy F. Gotbaum, Director at General American Investors Co. Inc. (NYSE:GAM), has also acquired company shares this year; a total of 1,400 at a price of $35.53 each.

As of today, John A. Levin’s Levin Capital Strategies is the largest institution (amongst those we track) supporting the company. The fund controls 24,869 shares and registered a small increment with respect to the previous filling period. General American Investors Co. Inc.
