Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s Barge project, which consisted of four floating barges in the sea, rumored to be used as a showroom for Google Glass and other products, is over. The four barges were made between 2010 and 2012 and what Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) intended to do with them was always a matter of speculation.

The end of Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s Barge project is confirmed now as reported by CNBC‘s Kayla Tausche.

“The barge which has been floating in Portland harbor since October is now headed for the scrap yard. The barge was apparently supposed to be a floating showroom for Google Glass and other hi-tech gadgets, but for whatever reason Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) decided to junk the project. At one point, guys, it was supposed to be a facility for company parties or it was going to be a data center […],” Tausche said.
