International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) has struck a massive deal with US department of Energy after which, the company will get a grant of $325 million, Fool.com reported. Department of energy wants International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) to build the fastest Super Computer by using its latest OpenPOWER technology. The deal has given a legitimacy and authority to the IBM’s latest system based on Cloud and high performance computing. NVIDIA is the partner of International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM)  is this project. It will provide GPUs to power the new super computer. The new computer will be the faster one in the world. NVIDIA is bringing its new data transfer technology, NVLink to the table. NVLink speeds up data transfer between CPUs and GPUs.

International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) has a very limited, but a huge set of opportunities to monetize. Its OpenPower architecture, coupled with NVLink can make a different in the super computing and HPC domain in the future.
