Today we are going to discuss the  most profitable industries in America in 2020. Insider Monkey has made great research work to compile this arresting list. The coronavirus pandemic has put its severe effects on the United States. According to Insider Monkey’s investigation, around 170,000 have died so far due to the pandemic. In order to slow down the spread of the virus, most states went into lockdown and people had to go under self-isolation. Therefore besides the lives lost, there is a considerable econimcal cost of the pandemic. Several states decided to re-open too early due to the economical crises, that’s why they are in worse situation now.

While the pandemic caused severe damages on most of the industries, still there are some that were extremely successful despite the pandemic. Companies in these industries have gained lots of profits, such as Jeff Bezo’s Amazon, or Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook. Unsurprisingly, the gainer industries are drugs, computers, online shopping, in word everything is connection with healthcare, home office, online shopping, and entertainment.

And now, let’s take a look at two of the industries from Insider Monkey’s list. At first,drugs (pharmaceutical) industry stands on the third spot on the compilation. Drug prices aren’t regulated in the United States, therefore companies can rise the prices to gain as much profit as they can. Computers / Peripherals industry is even more lucrative than drugs industry, as it has received the second spot. The computers/peripherals industry has been extremely profitable so far, too, but this year has brought lots of changes due to the pandemic. Tens of millions of people were forced to work from home, consequently computers and their acessories are far more essential, than ever before. Not do we use computers to work, but we order our foods, meals, and all the necessities via internet with the help of computers and laptops.
