UIL Holdings Corporation (NYSE:UIL) awarded five of its insiders with diverse stock grants yesterday. The grants varied in the amounts of Common Stock shares attributed to each employee, but all the awards paid maintained a price of $38.73 per share. The company’s Senior Vice President and General Counsel, Linda Randell, received the largest grant, consisting of 300 shares of Common Stock, with a total value of $11,619. Director John Lahey received 177 shares, worth $6,855, while UIL’s Vice President and Controller, Steven Favuzzar was awarded 124 shares, for a value $4,785.

The firm’s Senior Vice President of Governmental Relations, Alexander DeBoissiere, was awarded 40 shares and John Prete, VP of Transmission Business, received 70 shares of Common Stock.

On another note, Q1 of this fiscal year showed several new shareholder positions amongst hedge funds, such as Jonathan Barrett and Paul Segal’s Luminus Management, which acquired 240,600 company holdings, with a value of $8.8 million. Millennium Management, Israel Englander’s hedge fund, also entered a shareholding position at UIL Holdings, with 221,691 shares, worth $8.1 million.
