International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) is on the third place and the company is looking to sell its chip manufacturing unit in China. It’s nearing a deal for its chip manufacturing business as reported on Bloomberg today. International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) has been eluding its less profitable businesses has been searching for a buyer for the unit since last year.

Ulta Salon, Cosmetics & Fragrance, Inc. (NASDAQ:ULTA) is at #2 and its rightly there as the beauty products retailers reported first quarter results that topped Wall Street estimates and hence it gained a lot of attention. Ulta Salon, Cosmetics & Fragrance, Inc. (NASDAQ:ULTA)’s sales rose by about 19% which was helped by a 9% increase in comparable sales. Ulta Salon, Cosmetics & Fragrance, Inc. (NASDAQ:ULTA)’s stock has been on a high recently and has been doing good so far today.

American International Group Inc (NYSE:AIG) is the #1, the most talked about stock for today. The insurer named Peter Hancock as its new CEO succeeding Robert Benmosche who has stabilized the insurance company and paid back its 2008 government bailout. Hancock will take over as American International Group Inc (NYSE:AIG)’s President and CEO on September 1st 2014.

The other stocks in the top 10 stocks for today included CBS Corporation (NYSE:CBS), Family Dollar Stores, Inc. (NYSE:FDO) and Synaptics, Incorporated (NASDAQ:SYNA). The list also included major players like The Boeing Company (NYSE:BA), Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) and Toyota Motor Corp (ADR) (NYSE:TM).
