According to Timothy Arcuri, Semiconductor Analyst at Cowen & Co., it’s highly improbable that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will give its business for baseband wireless chips for iPhone to Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC), Barron’s revealed in one of its blog posts today. Arcuri recently shared a small note with Cowen & Co’s clients mentioning that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is more likely to mend its relations with Samsung and do business with it instead of Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC).

In the note, Arcuri highlighted that the introduction of the 13-inch tablet/notebook product (most probably 1H:15) is going to further limit Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC)’s processor relationship with Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL). He also mentioned that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Samsung’s recent decision to drop all litigation concerning patents outside the United States might be a stepping stone for both companies cementing a collaborative relationship in the future, which can see both companies sharing patents for their technology with each other.  The note also points out that QUALCOMM, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM) will face  increasing competition from MediaTek Inc., as the latter has come with its own system-on-a-chip.
