Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has gone through a cultural shift in terms of key focus areas and people inside the company voicing their opinions publicly. The company has a consumer oriented approach and this is being appreciated by the customers of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL).
Godfrey Sullivan, CEO and Chairman of Splunk Inc (NASDAQ:SPLK) was on CNBC and he discussed about this cultural shift in Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL). He was also the former VP of marketing at Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL). Sullivan believes the company’s engineering excellence is a key component of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s culture. Regarding the customer driven approach, here is what he said:
“They’re fanatically driven about the customer experience.”
Sullivan said that he has a lot of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) products because all the products work together seamlessly and a consumer doesn’t need to think about integrating all those together. Data easily gets uploaded to iCloud and you can download it wherever your want across the devices which doesn’t worry a consumer. What really benefit’s Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) according to Sullivan, is their focus on consumers. He said that the company was initially focused on the enterprise segment and slowly Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) walked away from it and focused exclusively on the customer experience. This move has impressed the consumer market and the customers really appreciate this shift according to Sullivan.
The shift was all about Steve Jobs in the early days and when Jobs returned to Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) the focus moved from enterprise to consumers. Now under Tim Cook there is a shift again with a lot of people inside the company being allowed to speak and Sullivan said that the company used to be very secretive in terms of their products.
According to him, Under Tim Cook, the company seems to have found its mojo, however he feels that the company is still secretive about the products. Sullivan was impressed by the leadership style of Tim Cook and said that he is trying to shed light on other executives as well . The employees enjoy the ability to represent Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) a little bit more.
He also spoke about the cloud war and how the stocks of the companies focusing on cloud, traded on the market. Sullivan said that the stocks are in better position now than they were a year ago. So the CEO of Splunk Inc (NASDAQ:SPLK) feels that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is going to continue to do well and though he wont recommend the stock to others, Sullivan said that he would definitely invest in Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL).
