(NASDAQ:INTU) released its final update for its FY14 consumer tax offerings. Sales of TurboTax Online units grew 14% versus the comparable prior-year period. Year to date through April 16, total federal units grew 10%. As of April 18, total self-prepared e-files received by the IRS were up more than 6%. On a comparable basis, TurboTax accepted e-files were up 9%. TurboTax gained approximately 2 points of share in the online software category this tax season. Verisign, Inc.(NASDAQ:VRSN) shares were up slightly after-hours after the company reported revenue of $249 million for Q1 2014, up 5% from the same quarter in 2013. Verisign reported net income of $94 million and diluted earnings per share of $0.64 for Q1 2014, compared to net income of $85 million and diluted EPS of $0.52 in the same quarter in 2013. Tesla Motors Inc(NASDAQ:TSLA) shares gained more than 5% after the company reportedly moved toward Panasonic as its partner in a giant U.S. battery factory, and launched sales of its electric cars in China. Dow Jones reported Tesla CEO Elon Musk said it is nearly certain Panasonic will be Tesla’s choice as its partner in a $5 billion planned Gigafactory. Netflix Inc., (NASDAQ:NFLX) shares were up 2% after hours as Q1 earnings rose year-over-year and topped analysts’ forecasts.  Netflix reported earnings of $0.86 per share, up from $0.05 per share a year prior. Shares of Amazon.com, Inc.(NASDAQ:AMZN)  gained more than 1% following a report the company intends to launch an Amazon smartphone in the second half of 2014. The Wall Street Journal said the giant online retailer has been showing the phone in recent weeks to developers in San Francisco and Seattle, and intends to start shipping the device in September, according to unnamed sources.
