In a program on CNBC, it was reported that Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s Waze app is revolutionizing the way people commute in the US. Government had spent billions of dollars over the years to solve the problem of daily morning and evening commute. It built several fares in neighborhoods, alternatives lanes to freeways and high ways. But people seem to have been following the same route which caused a lot of traffic jams. Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s Waze app is making the best use of these alternative routes. People are now getting to know that they can use several ways to reach a certain destination. According to United States Census Bureau, people who spend more than an hour on commute one way are categorized in “extreme commuters.” The Bureau says that there are around 10.8 million people in the US who commute more than an hour daily.

The source mentioned a local lady who noticed an unusual traffic hike during the past several weeks. Her neighborhood used to be a calm place but now, almost 600 cars pass daily in 2-3 hours. These results were recorded by the lady by a secret camera. This is happening because of Waze. Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s Waze app works on a principle of crowdsourcing. If a user reaches a destination A from location B, he will quickly notify the Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Waze community about the time taken to reach. If another Waze user reaches destination A from point C in less time than the previous user, he will notify all Wazers and the app will recommend everyone to take the route of second user because it is shortest and quicker.

If there is a traffic jam, Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s Waze app quickly reroutes its users and recommend them some other routes. Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Waze app has set a new trend unlike any other app. The app has changed the way people travel and reach their offices daily in the US and its becoming viral each day.
