Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) has decided to compete with search juggernaut Google in social media domain. Perhaps the only thing lagging in Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) was optimized post search. Google Plus and email service lets you search any post easily with some words, but that was not the case on Facebook. If a user wants to search a post or friend, it’s quite a daunting task. Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) has rolled out its new keyword search option using which, you can quickly search and view any post from your friend’s timeline.

In an article on Tech Crunch, it was reported that although Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB)  has announced that there will be no ads in the keyword search feature for iOS, there is a high chance that Facebook will monetize this search by allowing the brands, restaurants and companies to pay for their visibility in keyword results.

The source said that there is no security threat in this new update. But in-line privacy can be breached at a certain level. For example, if you posted something controversial and now it is under the pile of posts and feeds, any mischievous friend can bring it back to the top by quickly searching the keyword or idea which was used in your post.

Semantic search was a problem for Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB). Users were confused because of long phrases. The social media giant has come up with smart personalization algorithm this time. You can easily type any keyword and related results of posts will be shown in the feed.

Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) will roll out this search for PC and iOS users in a few days.
