International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) will finally sell its X86-based server business to Lenovo. The deal finally will soon be closed since the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) successfully concluded its review of the transaction, as International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) revealed in a recent press release.

International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM)  added that the $2.3 billion sale of x86-based server business to Lenovo will enable the company to engage more in the system and software innovations, especially in segments related to cognitive computing, Big Data and cloud. International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM)  also mentioned that by selling the x86-based server business to Lenovo, the current x86 customers can be confident that they will have a strong partner from now on.
