LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD) reported second quarter adjusted EPS of $0.51, up from $0.38 last year. Revenues also went up by 47% to $534 million from $364 million in the same quarter last year. Discussing future plans of LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD) in the Asia Pacific region in a program on Bloomberg, LinkedIn Asia Pacific & Japan Managing Director, Hari Krishnan, said that LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD) will focus on mobile platforms as most of its visitors access LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD) from mobiles. He said that the company has a huge potential of growth in the coming years as it is gaining the market exponentially.
Krishnan said that membership in Asia rose by 10% making it around 56 million members. He thinks that this membership push is the foundation of company’s growth.
“It’s hard to make forward looking statements, but I think when we look at our current quarter, one thing in particular we are really bullish on is our mobile strategy. Our Q2 results show that on a global basis, roughly 45% of our visitors visit LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD) over a mobile platform. We continue to invest in our mobile platforms and our mobile investments. If you think about this region, the Asia Pacific, a variety of countries, here in Singapore, also in Honk Kong, over 50% of our visits come from the mobile platforms. So, those investments in particular really show well for our growth in the rest of the year,” said Krishan.
Krishnan said that there is still a huge room for growth for LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD) in the Asia Pacific region as 40% of the world’s professionals reside here. He thinks that LinkedIn’s sales navigator can help the sales people enormously in boosting their interactions with potential clients.
“So really if you look at LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD) from the very beginning, sales people have used us for business development and to reach out to folks, but I think that sales navigator, what you are beginning to see is that for the first time you have built a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) application within a social network, and so with LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD) sales navigator, you are going to have sales people able to find the right people, get information about those folks and then build a trusted relationship and that should really eliminate spam, eliminate cold calling and allow for a warmer conversation between the buyer and sales person,” Krishnan added.
