According to Bloomberg’s Adam Satariano, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is doing its best to make people know that its surface tablets are the official tablets for the NFL. The NFL has been looking for ways to integrate the use of new technology of which tablets have started finding their way into pitches, as one of the tools for analyzing games and drafting them.

Getting the Microsoft Surface Tablet acceptance with many coaches has not been difficult as it can provide real time occurrence of events as opposed to relying on printed media that can at times get things quite confused and complicated.

NFL teams are set to use Microsoft Tablets something that should provide another revenue stream for the company in this segment. The company signed last May a deal worth $400 million that was to bring the company’s tablets to the NFL. A part of the use of the surface tablets is like a marketing tool aimed at popularizing the game, as well as guaranteeing another stream of revenue for giant hardware companies like Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT).

“A lot of this is a sort of marketing partnership. The NFL is looking for these different ways in which they can integrate technology and also sell this sort of marketing deals. Bose has also struck a new deal with the NFL, so you will see coaches wearing the Bose headphones on the sidelines,” said Adam Satariano.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s tablets are not the only ones being used in the NFL; some teams have from time to time been seen using Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iPads as well as giving out iPads with their playbooks as soon as they sign new players.

Surface 3 has got a pen base system that is becoming common with many coaches in the NFL, as it allows for easy plotting of moves that players should follow instead of heavily relying on time lapse pictures. Coaches can also draw plays as well as how players are supposed to move, thereby speeding up analysis instead of having to flip through pictures.

“One of the  interesting things about the new surface, Surface 3, is that it has got this sort of pen-based system that is not foreign even to the dumbest football coach in the world, who knows how to use a pen on the side of defense,” said Bloomberg’s Corry Johnson.
