Itron, Inc.(NASDAQ:ITRI) says Q1 sales were $475 million, above the mean Bloomberg estimate for $434 million. Non-GAAP EPS were $0.31, a nickel above estimates.

Separately, ITRI says Steven M. Helmbrecht, the company’s executive vice president (EVP) and chief financial officer (CFO), will be departing effective December 31. The company will conduct a search for external candidates to fill the position.

Encore Wire Corporation(NASDAQ:WIRE) was steady in Thursday late trade and the electrical wire and cable company reported Q1 net income topping its year-ago results and also exceeding analyst projections.

The company earned $10.9 million during the three months ended March 31, or $0.52 per share, up from a $6.4 profit last year and beating the Capital IQ consensus by $0.04 per share. Net sales rose 4.4% year over year to $277.2 million, lagging the Street view by around $24.63 million.

WIRE shares were unchanged in Thursday’s after-market at $49.38 apiece, earlier finishing the regular session with a 1.2% advance, rising 59 cents.

Synaptics, Incorporated(NASDAQ:SYNA) spiked to a new 52-week high after-hours as the human interface solutions provider reports a strong Q3 performance vs. consensus by analysts polled by Capital IQ.  Q3 EPS of $0.63 was a wide beat over analyst estimates for $0.57, but lower than prior year EPS of $0.79. Revenue increased 25% to $204.3 million, higher than analyst estimates of $192.0 million.
