According to the Word Risk Report from 2016, between 2013 and 2015 the world has experienced 850 natural disasters including earthquakes, storms, and floods with the approximate damage of $275 billion. But this statistic is nothing in compare to the report for years between 2010 and 2012 when the damage was estimated to $650 billion. Still, these numbers are too high and there are plenty of other better things for the government and any household to invest it.

Disasters can often be predicted accurately and announced by the government to make people safe, but there still isn’t any prevention of those disasters. There are, however, several ways to prevent those disasters to make that much damage and Japan had a perfect solution by constructing buildings with shock absorbers. However, this doesn’t mean that any day can be crucial to the citizens.

Country’s exposure to natural disasters is based on the location. If the country is placed on the ground near some of the epicenters, there is no way it can avoid the ground shaking from time to time. But not every country is affected by any of these disasters. Even though it may not seem like it since it is an island country but Grenada is one of them. At the first sight, it is a quite exposed nation and people would say that it can be affected by many disasters such as tsunami or storms, but Grenada has 1.42% risk index, which is far lower than any of 171 countries in the whole world.

As many people who live in high-risk areas are used to this kind of life, they don’t see it as a big issue since they are always prepared for everything. Therefore, they run regular everyday life until the announcement. But there are, on the other hand, people who are sick and tired of living in the fear and want to go someplace safer, where they think they would be safer. If you are one of them, Insider Monkey’s research team is here to help. They made a great effort to compile the list of 10 best places to live to avoid natural disasters, so be free to check them out and choose your next destination.
