Google is perhaps the biggest mover and shaker when it comes to, information technology, not just the internet. It indeed began its journey as a mere search engine, in the late nineties, but today Google has become synonymous to many things in information technology. The Google’s mission statement which I am quoting “to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful,” explains a lot about Google. As a search engine Google rose to prominence in the early 2000s and following that massive growth Google started a chain of products, acquisitions and partnerships beyond Google’s core search engine. And became what it is today.

The googles journey from a humble search engine to the most dominant force in information technology is one in a million of success stories. Of course Google has its fair share of scandals, but as end users the facilities and products that Google provides for us is really amazing. Let us take the Android operating system, for example, the number of smartphones running on Android is far greater than any other given operating system today. Because not just Google, but most of the smartphone manufacturers choose this platform for their products. Which proves how versatile and adaptive this operating system is.
