CNBC’s Jon Fortt reported that International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) and Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) are going to join hands in a partnership for a new Data analytics service. The service will help enterprise and companies to make  smart decisions. International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) and Twitter’s data service will introduce a new class of data that was previously unavailable to the Enterprise. Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR)’s stock came down 2% after the announcement. International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM)’s analytics sector is up by 8% year over year. The company is struggling to streamline its efforts. IBM is trying in different domains ranging from Cloud, wearables, chips and software. Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR), on the other hands seems to have a focused lens on data analytics, research and Cloud.

The service will be available through International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM)’s Cloud. Contemporary Enterprise use data and demographic information for ads, business strategies and marketing.

Fortt said that with this International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) will try to distance itself from money losing hardware business. Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) and International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) can reach a breakthrough in Big Data and tap into the never ending world of opportunities in the future. IBM chief executive Ginni Rometty has labelled data as the phenomenon of modern time.

Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) can use data insights for revamping its ads business. Facebook and Google are already competing each other in ads domain. Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR), having an open canvas for millions of users across the world can generate new streams of revenue through Big Data.
