CNBC’s Jon Fortt talked to Dan Mead, Verizon Wireless President & CEO in a program about Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ)’s expectations from Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and future business plans. Mead said that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is a very important business partner of Verizon in the industry and he is extremely excited about the product launch event of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) today.
“It’s a really important day for the industry and certainly for Apple, what a great legacy of providing value to consumers, […] They always have something good that makes a difference for consumers […],” said Mead.
Answering the question about basic attributes of value proposition of wireless industry, Mead said that Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ) is the leading company in its domain and it is very well aware of the customers’ expectations. He said that users want quality of the network, reliability and consistency in the wireless service. He claimed that Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ) fulfills all these requirements. According to Mead, video growth, using social media through wireless connections and connecting with family using texts and calls are some of the other paramount attributes of a quality wireless network.
Mead said that tablets, wearables and fashion devices are in the embryonic phase and we can expect a blasting growth in these areas in the coming years. He said that tablets are the drivers of the new tech markets.
