Even that jazz music had a lot of improvisation in the beginning, during the years it became very artistically and specific kind of music. Bebop-style was very popular in the middle of the 20th century, and bebop was meant to be listened to, not danced to, and it had very fast rhythm.
During the last 20 years, jazz became very rare type of music. Smooth jazz was created in the end of the 20th century, and became very popular. You could hear that kind of music on the beach, on the street. But now, when modern music is all around us, pop and hip-hop type of music, well, unfortunately it is hard to hear real traditional and good old jazz songs.
