Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s loss is turning into a big gain for BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY). While earlier it was just people on the Street who were speculating this after the iCloud hack, now even BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) is not shying away from proclaiming this. The company recently came up with an article on its Official Blog, which highlighted the comments made on different media outlets by experts and presenters alike on how BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) is still the first choice when security and privacy is your top priority.

BlackBerry, is BBRY a good stock to buy, Gerrit de Vynck

The article cited Fox Business’ Liz Claman as saying that BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) has still got the best enterprise security system, while interviewing analyst Rob Enderle. Enderle himself was quoted as saying that security is BlackBerry’s longest sustaining advantage and that people who were thinking about getting off their BlackBerry devices earlier are not thinking that now after the iCloud hack. According to the blog, Enderle feels that Blackberry’s recently acquired company Secusmart is a goldmine for it, which can be used for acquiring new customers.

CNNMoney’s Paul R. LaMonica was quoted as saying that Blackberry is anti-Apple and that the PR nightmare that celebrities are facing due to their nude pictures getting leaked through iCloud will help BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) in getting new customers or at the very least in regaining the customers that it has lost to other smartphone makers.

The article also featured a lot of tweets from Blackberry fans and other people, some of them are lauding the benefits of having a Blackberry and others are wondering in different ways if it’s a wise decision to go for a Blackberry when other smartphone manufacturers have failed in keeping their data secure.

As of June 30, 2014, Prem Watsa’s Fairfax Financial Holdings owns over 46 million shares in BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY), which makes it one of the largest shareholders in the company.
