The American population is said to be the country with the highest number of obese and overweight people due to the fast way of life, which lead to an unhealthy diet. According to the Center for Science in the Public Interest, about 678,000 people in the US died during 2010 because of the bad nutrition, 442,700 died from high blood pressure, 364,000 people died from the high body-mass index, and 158,400 of high cholesterol level. KFC made big adjustments on their products, with already reducing the huge amount of salt. Pizza Hut also made an effort to reduce the spices, which resulted in removing over 500,000 pounds of salt from their menu. The biggest surprise was McDonald’s that was continuously accused to be the main guilt for obesity and overweighting. Nowadays, their products are completely reduced and adjusted to fulfill people’s nutrition needs with yogurts and salads, as well as other healthier meal. For example, their Fruit ‘n’ Yogurt Parfait now contains 150 calories, 2 grams of fat, 0 grams of trans fat, 70mg of sodium and 1 gram of fiber. And if you thought that hamburgers were one of the unhealthiest meals out there, Burger King is here to change your mind with 240 calories, 8 grams of fat, 0 trans fat, 460mg of sodium, and 1 gram of fiber.
