Which hackers are considered to be the most prominent of all time?

The importance of cyber security is easier to comprehend when you know which hackers are considered to be the most prominent of all time.

As human life is becoming more and more connected to technology, understanding the activities and capabilities of hackers is very essential. A hacker has very high knowledge about computers and different systems and networks and can willingly disrupt the natural way of life by intruding into protected systems of different companies or government agencies. They can bypass highly sophisticated security systems for monetary benefits or simply because they want to show off their skills. There are different types of hackers operating around the world. White hat hackers are the ones who have the skills, but do not break laws and usually help out companies and governments. Gray hat hackers operate in, as the name suggests, the gray areas. They may break laws, but will not be malicious and self-interested. The self-interested and harmful hackers are black hat hackers and they are really troublesome.

Bevan and Pryce is one such prominent duo who received notoriety because they managed to hack into the Pentagon’s system and used their network to even reach South Korean nuclear program. David L. Smith is recognized for the contagious Melissa virus that managed to infect one-fifth of the computers of the world. Kevin Paulsen actually manipulated a radio station’s network because he wanted to win the Porsche that was being offered as a prize for a contest. But the most dangerous and damaging ones are people like Albert Gonzales or Max Butler, who stole sensitive customer information from credit-card companies and used those account details to steal money from the accounts.

Hackers can do a lot of damage to any system they get into. If you want to protect yourself from hacking, check out Insider Monkey’s report on 11 Biggest Hackers The World Has Ever Known to know more about the objectives and intentions of hackers.
