Ahn reported that Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB)’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman, Lee Jae Yong might hold a meeting tonight to discuss about the new Facebook exclusive phone.

“ […] So far what we know is they are meeting tonight. Zuckerberg arrives in Seoul today and they are having a dinner tonight and local media saying, well that they are discussing this new phone and that may include even a launch date. Now we don’t know much of the details so far, only the fact that Facebook COO, Sheryl Sandberg will be attending and also Samsung’s President of the IT and mobile division. So people are saying, Key figures are going to the meeting, so we may see something out there,” Ahn said.

Ahn talked about speculations from local media in Korea, which stated that Zuckerberg’s meeting with Samsung executives might be about the Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB)’s exclusive phone. Ahn also mentioned that this is the third meeting between the two and Zuckerberg last met Yong three months back. She added that this is the main reason for speculations about Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) phone made by Samsung.

Ahn said that Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) has already met with HTC Corp about the same and that meeting wasn’t successful. She added that after the failed talks with HTC, Facebook was looking for some other phone manufacturer, which might be Samsung.

Ahn pointed out that Zuckerberg is attending series of meetings around the globe. He first visited India, post which he visited Indonesia and met President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo for promoting internet.org. The main idea behind internet.org is to expand the internet usage around the globe by breaking down all the regional and cultural barriers.
