Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) had a very successful 2014 so far with their share prices going up by around 17%. Microsoft is not as popular a tech stock as Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) or Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) among the investors. But many investors are holding onto Microsoft stock hoping that it would reassure its status as a top tech company. Senior Portfolio Manager at Allianz Technology Trust, Walter Price talked on CNBC about why Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is an attractive stock.

Allianz Technology Trust’s second largest holding is the Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) stock. Price believes that Microsoft is making a swift transition to cloud computing market, which has a huge potential to succeed.

“I think Microsoft is making a very effective transition to the cloud. If you look at their business in this year and you look at the business in Office265, you add it up, you are going to get almost $5 billion this year and its up this year from the last year,” Price said.

Price mentioned that Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is making a graceful move into the cloud computing and it is going to get aggressive in the days to come. He thinks that the move into cloud computing will be a game changes for Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT).

Price thinks that Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s CEO Satya Nadella is sensible and realistic in taking decision. Price mentioned that he liked Nadella’s move to concentrate more on the cloud computing. He thinks that Nadella know the capability of the company and plays within that to succeed. He added that bringing Microsoft’s software into Apple and Android devices is a great achievement for the company.

In the last 1 year Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) shares are up by almost 30%, which is a great achievement for the company.
